About

Kathy West RN, BSc.N

Let me introduce myself…

I am a Registered Nurse with a clinically diverse background of over 20 years. My background ranges from nursing the critically ill in Intensive Care to Health Promotion and Disease Prevention in Public Health. I love it all!! I love my career and the ability it provides to advance and grow continually. I have a huge love of science and the questions why and how?? I do however also have an artistic side and a passion for Home Interior design and Beauty. With interior design, I love all things matching, symmetrical and perfectly in place. My approach to aesthetics is vastly different. We are naturally asymmetrical, imperfect and unique. Thus, the focus becomes balance, texture, harmony, light and shade.

I  began my career in aesthetic nursing in 2005 and took my first injector training through the Physician Training centre in Vancouver, B.C. I practiced as a nurse injector until 2007 at which time I paused this aspect of my career until  October 2021 when I decided to recertify with master injector Monica Sandhar BScN RN through Beauty Lab Academy. In 2022 I furthered my training through the School of Aesthetic Medicine in Essex, England through a lips masterclass as well as a Midface Master Class.

Why Aesthetic Nursing for me? My obsession with detail, beauty and design merged with a ferocious appetite for all things science and lifelong learning lends perfectly to Aesthetic Nursing. Whether your treatment goal is restorative or enhancement, I am committed to client-focused, safe and natural results.

I currently operate out of the med, spa blush beauty, bar, and laser studio in Sylvan Lake, serving southern like Red Deer and Central Alberta.

Safety

Like all medical procedures aesthetic treatments don’t come without risk. Your safety is my number one priority. I have taken extensive training in injection safety and complication management to ensure you are as safe as possible while in my chair.

I follow all AHS guidelines and the studio is AHS inspected and approved. All products and supplies are medical grade, and come from reputable pharmacies and manufacturers. I also follow all of the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta regulations for aesthetic practitioners.
